Day of Prayer – June 4
Be part of an amazing movement of prayer around the globe. We will be “gathered
together in one accord” in Orlando from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at “The Porch”,

televised (via satellite) North American prayer broadcast with Bob Bakke, TD Jakes, Luis Palau and others will be from 6:00 to

www.waymakers.org. Last year more than 200 million Christians in
156 nations united in a day of repentance and prayer for the world. Christians
came together in large stadiums, open fields, market squares, churches and
other public venues to pray. It was broadcast by hundreds of radio and TV
stations around the world. According to some this year’s observance will be
greatest Prayer gathering ever in the history of mankind.
Federal Marriage Protection Amendment
On
June 7th the U.S. Senate is scheduled to vote on the constitutional amendment
defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Many Christian
ministries are mobilizing people to call their Senators to urge them to vote
for the amendment. Senator Martinez is a co-sponsor. Senator Nelson has voted against
it in the past, call him at 202-224-5274 (Washington) or 407-872-7161 (local
office).
Orlando Prayer Strike - June 16 and
June 30 – 7:00 p.m.
The following is from the Florida Strategic Prayer Network. During
the Jacksonville "Awakening a Warrior's Heart" conference, several
prophetic words came from Chuck Pierce and Dutch Sheets concerning our state
and nation. One prophecy from Chuck was about the Python spirit which is coiled
around the Orlando region and that it is keeping Florida's destiny offshore. He
gave us a word to deal with this before July, so we have prayer strikes planned
for June. LOCATION: Orlando Worship Center, 4700 Goddard Ave., Orlando. Warning: This is not a
seeker friendly event, but one of intense warfare that will change your state

Subject: Furnace Update
We long for the day when God chooses to acknowledge Orlando as His
Dwelling Place; we rearrange our lives and seek His favor until it comes:
“Surely I will not go into the chamber of my house, or go up to the comfort of
my bed; I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids, until I find
a place for the Lord, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob” (Ps.
132:2-5).
May God’s beauty be magnified
throughout the city. May His Church be dressed in His beauty: “Honor and
majesty are before Him; strength and beauty are in His sanctuary. Oh worship
the Lord in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth” (Ps.
96:6,9).
We pray for the fear of the Lord to
return, and for righteous justice to be released. When His judgments are in the
earth, nations will know God (Is. 26:9d).

- Pentecost Sunday - June 4, 2006
The Global Day of Prayer is about the global adoration of GOD...with prayer and praise going up from around the world...from the rising of the sun to the going down on Pentecost Sunday. As authentic worship comes forth, a symphony of praise will ascend from cities, regions, nations, cultures, streams, denominations. Corporate praise will permeate the Earth's atmosphere and flow profusely before HIS THRONE in Heaven, filling HIS nostrils with delight! What an offering!
The world is crying out for transformation, and this type of corporate prayer and praise are critical to achieving it! To date, there are 178 nations participating, and the United States has 103 events registered in 34 States. Florida has three of these observances scheduled...in Jacksonville, Bradenton and Orlando!
The Body of Christ - the "Church of Orlando" will take its place in the worshipping throng...and allow its beautiful facets to be revealed and sparkling before the Lord!
From the "microcosm to the macrocosm", Central Florida to the nations, we’ll join in praying that "the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD,
as the waters cover the sea." Habakkuk 2:14
As we come together that day, we'll model "The Changing Face of Intercession". Pastors and
Intercessors will flow together in prayer, worshippers will share instruments and microphones as they praise, generations will dance and rejoice together, and the marginalized, orphaned, handicapped, imprisoned, lost, addicted and disenfranchised will be lifted up in prayer.

THE
MARRIAGE PROTECTION AMENDMENT
At stake: The future stability of the family and of this nation
(Excerpted
from “Same-Sex Marriage Update”,
Because the battle has been playing out on the state level across the country,
you may wonder why it is so vital to see this battle won at the national level.
Let us not forget that the states were working independently on
abortion laws when the Supreme Court came along (Roe v Wade) and snatched the unborn’s right to life away.
It is not a question of if a case like
this will reach the Supreme Court, it is a question of how soon. With a stroke
of a pen, the 19 states that have already passed state constitutional
amendments, and the 25 others that have passed statutes to protect traditional
marriage, can have their work, and the will of the people there, undone.
Unfortunately, we must act now to
protect marriage through a constitutional amendment,
the Marriage Protection Amendment.
It is not gay-bashing or homophobic to call for such an amendment.
We love all people, as each is created in the image of God – even while we
disapprove of what we regard as immoral behavior. Tolerance does not mean we
should encourage or enable a lifestyle that is destructive. Our conscience is
not free as a nation to sanction and normalize those self-destructive behaviors
by protecting them in our laws.
Let us consider children. If same-sex marriage were adopted on a national
level, homosexual couples would have unrestricted rights to adoption. Even
liberal social scientists in
Dr. Stanley Kurtz, a research fellow at Stanford University-based Hoover
Institution has studied what happened in countries like
As Dr. Kurtz puts it: “Children are dependent on adults. That means they’re
dependent on their parents and they’re also dependent on society to support
institutions that will keep those children under stable and safe care.”
It would be grossly irresponsible to leave the door open to what could easily
be another Roe vs. Wade. We have a short window of opportunity. We dare not let
ourselves go slack during these summer months.

re-defined by activist judges. For the good of families, children, and society,
I support a constitutional amendment to protect the institution of
marriage."

NOW IS THE TIME TO PRAY AND ACT
Call your senators and representatives
to make your voice heard on this issue and let them know their constituents
deeply care about protecting marriage in this country through a constitutional
amendment. It has been observed that calls to a lawmaker’s state office are

breaking.
Intercede on behalf of those who make public policy in
Ask the Lord to grant opportunity for a Biblical world view and principles into

THE TIME TO PRAY AND ACT
There is a vote scheduled on the Marriage Protection Amendment
in the Senate on June 5th, with another vote in the House after the 4th of July.
